As part of our project with Hollybrook Homes , we visited FP McCann in Leicester to document the intricate manufacturing process behind their large prefab building blocks. Each block is custom-designed for its specific position in the ‘jigsaw’, enabling the creation of a dwelling that is nearly 50% constructed off-site.

We were captivated by the incredible atmosphere of the place—the light, the heat, and the unmistakable smell of steel being worked into shape. While the indoor firework display from the welder’s torch makes for show-stopping visuals, it’s the precision and skill involved in assembling these pieces that truly steals the spotlight.

The team here are absolute craftsmen, and it was a privilege to capture the artistry behind the (angle) grind.
