Having already been following Russell and the Wolf Choir and their amazing work on Spotify, we were really excited when he decided to use Oh Brother Creative to produce his visual content to coincide with his new E.P release. The brief required us to produce both video and portraits (our favourite type of brief!) in keeping with his current brand identity.
The fact that we were already familiar with his music style, and fans from the get-go, we felt that the visuals had to be as clean and sincere as the chosen song to really do it justice. For us, it wasn’t about showing off our skills, it was about letting the song do the work and the viewer being able to visually engage with the artist and his performance.
With this in mind, along with the time restraints and budget factored in, we decided to tackle both the film and stills in one sitting. Location scouting led us to a disused rooftop car park in East London.
